ClaySA brings the wonders of ceramics into the spotlight this November with a major exhibition and
studio tours

An inaugural citywide month-long celebration of San Antonio ceramics launches in November to
highlight the diverse talents of the city’s ceramic artists and community.

October 2, 2025 – San Antonio, TX — This November, ClaySA, a volunteer-led committee of ceramic
artists, supporters and enthusiasts, presents a month-long celebration in San Antonio of the wonders of
clay, with the inaugural ClaySA Exhibition + Studio Tours. Anchored by an opening exhibition at Mercury
Project, and partnered with Contemporary Arts Month (CAM), ClaySA invites San Antonio to explore the
transformative power of clay.

Curated by ClaySA committee member Hilary Rochow, the main exhibition, The Mark of the Hand:
ClaySA’s Inaugural Exhibition, opens on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Mercury
Project. The show will highlight the varied talents and techniques of San Antonio’s ceramic artists. Each
featured artist will contribute a selected piece, resulting in an exhibition that celebrates the richness and
diversity of the local ceramics community.

Following the exhibition, San Antonio will have the unique opportunity of experiencing the creative
process firsthand during two ClaySA Studio Tour weekends. Participants can tour working studios, meet
the artists, and learn about the stories behind the work.
