SAN ANTONIO, TX — December 15, 2025— Contemporary Art Month (CAM) announces eight artists for participation in the 2026 CAM Perennial. This dynamic city-wide exhibition will take place throughout March 2026 at Casa Pink, Outrider Gallery, Rojo Gallery, Sala Diaz, Un Grito Gallery, and in what is considered a cornerstone exhibition of San Antonio’s annual celebration of contemporary art.
The 2026 CAM Perennial will be co-curated by CAM Board Members Casie Lomeli and Leslie Moody Castro, two curators with deep connections to San Antonio’s art community.
Why CAM Perennial 2026 Matters
Next year, 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of Contemporary Art Month—an ideal moment to reflect on CAM’s origins in San Antonio’s artist-run spaces while looking forward with renewed energy. With both curators rooted in the city and deeply engaged in the regional and national art scenes, the exhibitions will honor CAM’s past while amplifying diverse voices and perspectives for the future.
In keeping with CAM’s tradition of cultural exchange, the 2026 Perennial open call was extended to curators of past Perennials to nominate artists in their cities, like El Paso, Dallas, Las Cruces, Mexico City, etc. CAM co-curators Casie Lomeli and Leslie Moody Castro selected artists and conducted virtual studio visits in order to shape the exhibitions final form. The inclusion of multiple venues, two curators, and artists from many reaches of our region highlights a commitment to collaboration, dialogue, and honoring the multiplicity of perspectives that define contemporary art in Texas and beyond.
