Guest Writers

Madison Vrazel is an art historian, museum professional, and writer. She is a grant writer and researcher at Artpace in San Antonio, Texas. Vrazel was a Research Intern for the Songs for Fran and Donny (2025) exhibition at Artpace and Assistant Curator for the Do You Really Believe That? exhibition featured at Texas Christian University and the University of Texas at San Antonio (2024-2025). Prior to these projects, Vrazel worked at the Texas Quilt Museum in La Grange, Texas as Visitor Services Coordinator and later as Interim Museum Manager. She has written publications for Viva Arte as well as in the Do You Really Believe That? exhibition catalogue. Vrazel holds a Master of Arts in Art History and a Bachelor of Arts in History with a Minor in Museum Studies, both from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Chris Karr is a Chicano artist originally from the Rio Grande Valley, and now living in San Antonio, Texas. He started painting at eight years old and has been creating art ever since. He earned his Bachelors of Art in studio art from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in December 2021 and his Masters of Art in art history from the University of Texas at San Antonio in December 2023.

Currently, he is the Lead Retention Specialist at the University of Texas at San Antonio and an adjunct professor of art history. In addition to making art, he has recently begun writing about it, and his passion for both creating and understanding art continues to grow.
